Ellen Andersen is an associate professor of political science at Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI) where she teaches American politics and studies the gay rights movement. She is the author, most recently, of Out of the Closets and into the Courts: Legal Opportunity Structure and Gay Rights Litigation (University of Michigan Press). Ellen sits on the board of Indiana Stonewall Democrats and is a member of the Indiana Democratic Party's State Central Committee. She lives in Indianapolis with her partner of 14 years and their delightful daughter.
