Jessica Hoffmann is an LA-based writer, editor, and activist. Her writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Kitchen Sink, The NewStandard, Social Policy, Bitch, elimae, Watchword, and the anthologies We Don’t Need Another Wave: Dispatches from the Next Generation of Feminists and Nobody Passes: Rejecting the Rules of Gender and Conformity. Jessica is a member of the editorial and publishing collective behind make/shift, a new magazine documenting contemporary feminist culture and activism.
When she is not editing make/shift, writing journalism, or scrutinizing other people’s punctuation as a freelance copyeditor, Jessica writes hybrid fiction/essay texts; works with her neighbors and friends to do something about the housing crisis in Los Angeles; talks with other class-privileged radicals about how to strategically use privilege for social change (see: Resource Generation); loves and struggles with some absolutely marvelous people; goes to noise shows; talks to her cat; and spends as much time as possible outside.
