Well, it's certainly a white Christmas here in Indiana. While we were spared the brunt of the storm that hit the rest of the state, it's not been all peaches and cream here either!
Matt, my ex-boyfriend, lives in Bloomington, Indiana. He called last night complaining of a sore back from shoveling out his car. Monroe County is still under a snow emergency, which means that only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads anyhow, so I have to wonder why he bothered. *grins* Of course, you try to explain to your boss that you couldn't come to work because of a snow emergency. Most just don't care - they only want your butt there doing the grunt work! They got almost 2 feet of snow in Bloomington.
Our daughter, Paige, went to visit Grandma in Columbus, Indiana earlier this week so she could get her presents and spend some time down there visiting on her school break. She's still there. Columbus reported in at 2 to 2.5 feet of snow! The day after the second storm hit, Jerame talked to his dad who said there was a 4 ft snow drift in front of the door! They had to shovel all day to just get out of the house and be able to take care of the animals. Our daughter called us a little bit ago to wish us a Merry Christmas, but it's still not the same as having her here. :( And since Jerame's parents live in the country, their little country road hasn't even been plowed yet!
I'd like to go out and make snow angels or a snowman with her. *smiles* She's been grounded for so long now, that it would be nice to be able to take her out to do something fun! She's supposed to go to her mom's in Tennessee for the rest of the break, but her mom's never even called to make plans (not that you'd be able to drive back and forth right now anyhow!). It's so sad how badly that woman treats her. And it's no wonder that she has some issues over it. It's a vicious circle.
So while I was up and waiting on Jerame to get out of bed, I thought I'd wish all of our visitors a Merry Christmas. I won't say that I hope it'll be white. *grins* But I do hope it's happy and joyous. Peace to you all.
