Now it is time to blow the whistle. There is not a single world-famous black person who is openly gay. Young black lesbians and gays need role models. Who better than Malcolm X, one of the inspirations of my activism and one of the great modern heroes of black liberation?
Malcolm X was bisexual?
Peter Tatchell from the Guardian recently reported about some facets of Malcolm X's life that the Nation of Islam fellows aren't too proud of. Apparently he wasn't as robustly heterosexual as they'd like him to have been. The article documents teenage masturbation and oral sex as well as the black leader's history as a male hustler. I completely agree with the last paragraph of the article:
