Off my political horse, for the nonce: After eleven months "living in my truck", I have a place. I put "living in my truck" in quotes, because thanks to friends and cheap motels, I have almost never actually slept in the truck. I just used it to move my stuff from here to there. Now I have a roof and a door and responsibilities, like moving stuff to my new space. First move, I forgot to bring a cooking pot or the microwave, so I cannot cook. I bought an air conditioner which is why the weather has been cooler lately. Today I am off to get the microwave and several pots.
Looking for the cheapest reasonable accommodations, I settled on a well used upstairs apartment in a running down neighborhood; but I face a park with a brook just beyond. The semblance of lawn and the hint of gurgling water (I have not ventured close to disabuse myself) add more to my sense of well being than more amenities at a higher price would do.
Now I am a resident of Indianapolis and properly outraged at the City-County Council for dumping the HRO. I am represented by Julia Carson, which is a big improvement over Mike Sodrel. (Ooops, politics.)
