Jerame and I drove down to Seymour tonight to pick up our daughter from her mother's house. We stopped by his parents house in Columbus to try and consolidate visits and save on our gas costs. As you can imagine, with close relatives "relatively" close by, we do a lot of weekend driving taking her either to or from someone's house. When we stopped for gas tonight, it was $2.79/gallon in Columbus. We had 1/4 tank, but it still cost $31.00 to fill up the tank.
I guess that has influenced my choice for a blog post tonight. I thought I'd share these flash animations with everyone. First up, AtomFilm's I Can't Afford My Gasoline with the best line of "You'll get screwed so bring your Vaseline. I can't afford my gasoline." Secondly, I offer to our discriminating readers Mark Fiore's Petrotheism. I love "that which we shall not name." Mark's usually got some damn fine political animations on his site.
