A Note About Our Newsletter and the Indianapolis City Council
Many of our supporters have already called the council clerk to express their opinion of this radical proposal. Some confusion has arisen because the ordinance is not currently on the council calendar. However, this is still an issue that the council members are very aware of and one its supporters want revisited.
Throughout the summer, homosexual activists have lobbied council members to change their vote in hope that they can get the support they need to pass this measure which elevates a changeable sexual behavior to the same legal equivalent as race or skin color. These activists have also been soliciting their web site and blog audiences for stories of discrimination that they want to take before a council committee hearing this time. Lastly, the sponsors of the bill have told other council members and even the media that they want to bring the issue back up this or next month.
Thus, while the clerk is correct in what she has told some AFA supporters, (she is not trying to mislead anyone) AFA has not passed along incorrect information. Instead, we have issued an initial shot across the bow to let the council know that if or when this ordinance returns, (as its supporters openly claim is their intent) there will be even more opposition to it than there was in April when we only had four days advance notice.
I appreciate everyone who has called, and I apologize for any confusion over the timing of the ordinance. We are continuing to watch this fluid situation and are working behind the scenes to keep this heavy-handed, liberal proposal from being revived. We will keep you updated and let you know more details when possible.

Indianapolis City Council Calls
Speaking of telephone calls, last week I mentioned the Indianapolis City Ordinance that homosexual activists are trying to bring back for another vote sometime this month or later this fall. The best telephone number to use for now, until if/when we give out specific council member info, and more details, is the Council’s constituent line. You can leave a voice message about the ordinance which equates changeable homosexual behaviors with skin color and race. The council number to call is 317-327-4241.
The ordinance is not pending at the moment, nor is it on the Council calendar, but the supporters of the measure have been lobbying behind the scenes to switch some council votes all summer long following Proposal #68’s defeat in late April. After months of hearing about those efforts, AFA decided to remind the Council, through our recent newsletter, that there are thousands of people who opposed Prop. 68 and still do not want that radical mandate brought back from the dead.
Perhaps after reading so many tirades from Micah which purposefully distort the truth - that Christian radio stations will have to hire men in dresses as part of an affirmative action program, that sexual orientation is a changeable behaviour, or that equal opportunity in housing, employment and education will somehow lead to men marrying dogs - I thought perhaps it was time to show Micah what the Bible had to say. He's apparently lost his way...
Who may climb the mountain of the Lord and enter where he lives? Who may stand before the Lord? Only those with pure hands and hearts, who do not practice dishonesty and lying. They will receive God's own goodness as their blessing from him, planted in their lives by God himself, their Saviour. These are the ones who are allowed to stand before the Lord and worship the God of Jacob. -- Psalm 24:3-6
