Why's Pat So Worried?

Inside sources from today's Health Finance Commission meeting (where State Senator Pat Miller's "State Authorized Pregnancy" bill was to have been heard before being withdrawn) tell bilerico.com that the not-so-good Senator beefed up security for the meeting. Several state police were on duty and there were signs all over the chamber that said "No signs or banners allowed in House chamber or gallery at any time." Ms. Miller was, apparently, expecting some protesters over her draconian piece of proposed legislation.

Remember to keep your ear to the ground on this one, readers. Statehouse sources indicate that while she's agreed to not seek the recommendation of the Commission, she still intends to try to slip it in as an amendment during the next legislative session...

You can take the opportunity to stop by Pat's booth at the Irvington Halloween Festival on Oct 29. Miller is a co-sponsor of the festival (although, what does her religious beliefs say about worshipping demons and witches?) and it would be the perfect opportunity to make your views known. Have a great time AND tell off a political extremist. Win-win.

I had heard that Miller received death threats because of her proposal, which is unfortunate (and stupid). This would explain the beefed up security.

"...which is unfortunate (and stupid)..."Agreed on both counts. However, one cannot hang out on the lunatic fringe (or with them for that matter:) and not expect to draw out the same element on the opposing side.
