The Church Within presents Expressive Hearts, a workshop designed to give members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (glbt) community and their allies an opportunity to express their personal stories through the arts. Rev. Yvonne Brandenburg has gathered a collective of expressive artists and healers all striving to enhance our daily lives with drama, movement and art.

The day-long event will give participants an opportunity to explore their own stories through movement, drama and art. Art therapist Kristina M. Gmutza, Mindful Movements instructor Nicholas Martin Kearney along with local actor & playwright Jeffrey Barnes will lead participants through a series of workshop sessions designed to explore the individual experiences of the participants.

This first workshop in the Expressive Hearts series welcomes individuals from the glbt community, their families and friends regardless of faith background.

In addition to interactive workshop sessions, the days activities will include a performance of Barnes' one-man play Remember Who Made You. Recently performed at The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, this play is a series of monologues taking a look at the glbt experience from several viewpoints.
