Rumors of Pride

I wrote last summer (Why Indiana Black Pride) about why there is no reason for competition between Indiana Black Pride and Indy Pride. Unfortunately I heard last week that the rumor still circulates that there is some tension between them, or between Robert Ferguson and Gary Brackett, presidents of the two organizations. That is utter nonsense. There is no need, in this community, to borrow trouble; to try to create dissension where there is none. No one involved in either Pride gives any credit to such balderdash. If the intent is to sow dissension, it is a waste of someone's time. Still it could adversely affect the perceptions of the larger community or others, and that would be a pity. We should all celebrate both the wonderful achievements of these two organizations that are the public face of our community, and the sprit of generous cooperation that exists between them.
