Some readers have been inquiring as to what we ended up calling our new cat. While we got several great suggestions in the comments of that post, well, we didn't take your advice.

You might remember that our new kitty is a couple years old already. He has all his claws and likes to use them. Charged up on testosterone and in full flight or fight mode, within a few hours of joining the household he was chasing our two dogs around the house. They promptly abdicated their positions as "Lord and Lady of All Things Below the Knees" and installed him as the successor. (It's funny though how rebellious they still are. One hand clap and a strong "No!" for climbing on the mantle, for example, will inspire Fritz to bark disapprovingly - but from a safe distance.)

Kitty loves to hear himself talk and will announce himself when he enters a room with you. (Hence his foster parents' name choice of "Mr. Kennedy" for the pro wrestler that introduces himself when he steps into the ring.) Kitty is very playful and is extremely mischievous. He's mastered the art of looking innocent when caught doing something he shouldn't be. He will lurch forward to push against you to get attention and love - anything to be the center of attention - the pet everyone is looking at.

Based on his personality - and grey masculinity - Kitty's new name is... *drumroll please*

Denny Crane.

What? You don't watch Boston Legal? It's a spin-off of The Practice and one of the best shows on TV today. It stars James Spader, Candice Bergen, Rene Auberjonois and... William Shatner as Denny Crane - a loud-mouthed, arrogant, silly, lovable, grey-haired attorney with a habit of punctuating his conversations by announcing his own name.

In honor of Denny, we'll attempt a first here at bilerico - our first video clip. Enjoy a good example of how Denny (the cat) got his name.
