I've been lax about posting lately, but when Bil pointed me to this story, I couldn't resist posting. Who would'a thought that the Indiana Democratic Party was more progressive on LGBT issues than the New Jersey Democratic Party? Indiana Stonewall Democrats is a full voting member of the State Central Committee and when ISD's status as a voting member of the Committee initially came up for a vote, every single member of the State Committee voted in favor. In contrast, there is no LGBT representation on the New Jersey State Central Committee, and it shows. The NJ Chair of the Central Committee clearly needs an education in basic human decency and should be escorted out of an official position in the party tout suite.

This is yet another example of the myth of red states and blue states. It's nice to see more proof of the nice shade of purple that we really are.

Kudos to Chairman Dan Parker for making this happen and kudos to Senator Evan Bayh for appointing one of the most LGBT-friendly Democratic Party Chairs in the nation!
