There are a couple of events going on for World AIDS Day. Check them out...
Please join the Circle City HIV/AIDS Coalition for the annual observance of World AIDS Day Friday, December 1, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. This program will be hosted at the Jesus Metropolitan Community Church, 2950 E. 55th Place.
Once again this year, the Circle City HIV/AIDS Coalition will host an evening memorial service designed to raise awareness and remember those Hoosiers lost to HIV/AIDS. Local AIDS activists, clergy and concerned citizens all will take part in the Program. The Indianapolis Men's and Women's Choruses will perform, in addition to Brenda Williams. Panels from the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed. A reception will follow the Program.
The Community of Love will host their 6th Annual World AIDS Day Reception and Outstanding Dedication Awards presentation on Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Avenue from 6 pm to 9:30 pm.
This years theme is "Stop AIDS Keep The Promise." This event is dedicated to HIV/AIDS survivors. The evening will include a reception, silent auction, designer fashion show. The fashion show will be presented by Denderah "Deidra Coleman" and La'Bush Designs. Derek Wilkerson, from Fox 59, will be the Master of Ceremony.
This event is sponsored by the Marion County Health Department/SOS Youth and Young Adult Sub-Committee, Gilead Sciences and the Indianapolis Urban League.
All proceeds will benefit Community of Love transitional housing and to further their mission of providing support and services for those living with HIV/AIDS. All donations made to the Community of Love are tax deductible.

Bil, the initial part of this post is a little confusing...
is the local memorial ceremony the same thing as the JCC service?
If not, where is the memorial cermeony?
Thanks.

Rick, I hope this clears it up! There are two services on World AIDS Day.
The first is sponsored by the Circle City HIV/AIDS Coalition. It will be held at Jesus MCC starting at 6pm.
The Community of Love's event is being held at the Indianapolis Urban League and also starts at 6pm.
