Today's Indy Star has an interview with Advance America's Eric Miller that'll you want to go check out. It's full of the usual half-truths and distortions that we've come to know and despise.

While the Star didn't hold Miller's feet to the fire, at least the reporter is asking him some pointed questions instead of just cheerleading him through his dog and pony show. As I said in the Talkback area of the Star, I thought it was funny that when the reporter asks him about the divorce rate (in regards to protecting marriage), Miller makes no mention of his own divorce.

How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take that splinter out of your eye,' when all the while you yourself do not see the beam in your own eye? Vain pretender! take the beam out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother's eye.

Q: People making the case for the marriage amendment say gay marriage is a threat to the institution of marriage. But isn't a divorce rate of nearly 50 percent a greater threat?
A: I think that historically in Indiana and America, marriage has always been defined as between a man and woman. And the foundation of our society is marriage between a man and a woman. This reaffirms that longstanding position.
