1. Research shows negative gossip can build friendships, release tension via USAToday.com (Hate your boss? Can't stand that popular wannabe singer or actress? Think pro athletes are spoiled, coddled and overpaid? You're in luck.)
2. Drivers think of sex rather than signals via Reuters UK.com (There's a shocker, eh? I've followed several of them.)
3. Melanie Online via melaniegriffith.com (Just go. And riddle me this. Who the hell knew? Who knew!? Wow. Melanie. Okay then.)
4. After Pat's Birthday via sfgate.com (Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in 2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, who was discharged in the summer of 2005, has written a powerful, must-read document.)
5. Notice The Pointy White Hats in the Back! via Mighty Optical Illusions (This is really funny. Remember the horrible homophobic speech that Mitt Romney just gave in Massachusetts in favor of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex civil marriage? Check out this picture of it. Actually, they're state flags hanging on poles in the background, but I think our minds are clued in on something...)

I posted on this site a few days ago about this week's Time, in which Joe Klein summarizes many doubts about Iraq, succinctly and powerfully.

This tops it...in spades.

Copy it and send it to all your friends.

And I suuggest we send it, and some strong words, to our senior senator. He had the power, as chair of the committee, to reign in this president's reckless Iraqi power. Instead, our senior senator, cruising to re-election (almost) unoppposed, chose to wax professorial and give lengthy boring speeches anywhere he could.

He is still listened to, and powerful. Read Tillman's article, wipe your eyes, clear the lump in your throat, and get out your pen.

Lugar does read about half of his personally-written constituent mail, I'm told.

Pat Tilllman's death was a waste. Sen. Lugar's squandering of a soapbox and platform is equally wasteful.

He's RMM now, but still powerful.

Write that letter. In his heart, the senator knows this war was wrong.
