Who likes football?

Well, lots of folks like football, but how many of us like BEING the football? (Personally, I don't like either.)

Seems like the LGBT community is firmly entrenched as this year's political football, doesn't it? We're the subject of any number of right-wing attacks on Democrats that run the gamut from barely insinuating to "the bowels of hell will open up and swallow us all" style.

Here's an example by the Indiana Republican State Committee attacking Sue Errington. Sue is running against Republican Andrew Phipps in Senate District 26 for an open seat. (Thanks to Jen for the correction.)

Many of you may remember Sue as the former Public Policy Director for Planned Parenthood of Indiana or perhaps from some of her many forays into public service at the city and county level. Andrew Phipps is the host of the "Phipps Gospel Sing" on radio and television. He was also the Director of Community Relations for Congressman Mike Pence (R - 6th District).

This was paid for by the Indiana Republican Party folks. The same Indiana Republican Party that made promises not to "gay bait" this year. Looks like gay baiting to me, doesn't it you?

So, whether you like football or don't like BEING the football, go to Sue's site and donate some cash to her in the final hours. The choice of candidates is clear. Andrew "Gospel Sing" Phipps or Sue "Public Servant" Errington.

Maybe my ISP's server is screwing up again but, from out here in my little corner of cyberspace, the link's not working.

Did the Indiana Repugs take the thing down now that they've been called the bigots they are?

small correction: Phipps is NOT the senator. He & Errington are both running for a seat now occupied by retiring D Senator Allie Craycraft, who's held the seat since 1978.
