Where are the 20,000 troops coming from? The obvious answer is force protection, the policy that gives lie to the logic behind Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue, among other things. Scheduled to rotate home from Iraq? Think again.

Not wanting to appear unpatriotic -- after all, tonight Shrub is scheduled to re-re-reiterate the proposal that has been trial ballooned to deflation, I offer Bill Prendergast's actual conversation with the U.S. Army's robo-recruiter, Sergeant Star, regarding Army Recruiting: Draft of the Dead.

Note to Bil: The blog could use a new category called 'I Couldn't Make This S*** Up If I Tried'.

I was laughing and on the verge of tears at the same time reading the Sergeant Star conversation. Too creepy for words.

Does the 'surge' have anything to do with the new oil law currently being pushed giving foreign oil subs an unprecedented deal to drill and extract and control Iraqi crude? Hmmm...

George W. Bush should hang his head in shame. He didn't properly feed or arm the first group that went into Iraq, and it's been rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul since. For food, body and vehicle armour, you name it.

So now we're adding to the mix?

If you use simple math, of these additional 20,000, a couple hundred will die. Another 400 will be brutally and alarmingly mutilated, and require lifeling care or rehab.

To be performed by a VA which W has cut to shreds.

What he's doing to satisfy his testosterone dreams is immoral and he knows it. He belongs in a pew.

I don't know about the oil and surge policy convergence. Given the threats in his speech, it could be a pre-Iran troop assistance negotiation ploy.

From what Tim Russert and Tom Brokaw were saying, he's got a domino theory fixation going on -- blissfully unaware that he's constantly doing the set ups and starting pushes -- so I'm not so sure he understands the immorality of it all. This, of course, is even scarier than if he did.
