This weekend at a dinner party I was talking to Carl Brizzi's Chief of Staff, Helen Marchal. We were talking about the proposed hate crimes law and I promised her that I would ask bilerico readers to help her to help you. Make sense? It will.

The Prosecutor's office is looking for people with good stories about previous crimes that could have been classified as a hate crime. The Prosecutor's office is working with other various organizations and groups to help ensure passage of the hate crimes bill. If you yourself or someone you know has been a victim of a hate crime in Indiana, please have them e-mail Helen and tell their story. Providing a name and phone number would probably make things easier for them to contact you.

If you can't help out by sharing a personal story, you can always send an e-mail to your representative urging them to support passage of the hate crimes bill!
