Could Kokomo have been the latest scene for a hate crime? While the details are still fuzzy, it's worth taking a look. The mainstream media is definitely handling this poorly, no matter what...

The Kokomo Tribune has an article up about the incident entitled "Police looking into Kokomo man's death", however the victim was actually a trans woman. She was found dead in the parking lot of her apartment complex and was discovered by two of her friends. From what I'm hearing, they disagree with police statements that no "foul play" was involved. The Tribune, however, simply reports that a local man was found "unresponsive" in a parking lot and that "county coroners officials found no signs of foul play, however, the case remains under investigation".

With the hate crimes bill dying in the House this year isn't it rather ironic that all of these incidents have started happening? Is it possible that this isn't just a coincidence and that the message Eric Miller and his ilk have been sending for weeks about protections for "homosexuals and crossdressers" have had a detrimental effect on our community? Maybe some day all of the hate and bitterness that these wingnuts keep spouting will come home to roost instead of being transferred onto us.
