Tonight was the Indiana Family Institute banquet/fundraiser and Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy was the guest of honor. (For those who've been under a rock for the past couple of months, go here here or here for background on this story.)
Watch for a story in tomorrow's Indianapolis Star for the details. Faith and Values reporter Bobby King attended the banquet this evening and called Bil for a quote afterwards. I don't have any direct quotes from Dungy to pass along or a full picture of the night's events, but rumor has it that it was a real pisser.

What do most homosexual organizations and the Bush administration have in common? The attitude that "if you're not for us, you're against us" and the desire to censor the opposition.
bilerico.com wants to be allowed to voice their position but bash anyone who dares hold the opposite point of view. Worse, Bil Browning wants to threaten the whole team for the remarks of 1 man in the hopes that the Colts and or NFL will do his dirty work for him by censoring... or censuring Dungy.
Plain and simple, Tony Dungy's comments were not anti-gay, they were pro-God. He was standing up for what he believes in just as Browning is; it's just that the coach's is based on his strong faith, a right he didn't give away just because of his success.
I have been a Colts fan since before they arrived in Indianapolis and, as I have grown out of the world and into my faith, it has been nice to see my favorite teams on the same journey. I credit Coach Tony Dungy for the example he sets as on the occasions that I've met him, I have always found his gracious and family oriented. I support his All Pro Dads project and stand in agreement with his beliefs in God's marital design.
I, for one, thank God for men of conscience like Mr. Dungy!
