I've got a faction of evangelicals in my family. We have a truck stop nearby that usually has the cheapest gas prices around, sometimes by as much as ten cents cheaper.
The most vocal of them actually refuse to buy gas at this truck stop because it is owned by gasp Mormons.
Nevermind that they go to Vegas and Vegas wouldn't have been Vegas without all the financing from the Morman controlled bank of Las Vegas.
Am I hatin' on Mormons? Nope. Just pointing out that the Republicans might have a tough time counting on the "base" with Mitt since the "base" might actually be hatin' on the Mormons.
Oh. And by the way. When I asked them about the whole gas thing, they told me that the Mormon "religion" was actually a cult.
No. I'm not kidding.

You know, I have to admit - I rather think of the Mormons as a "cult." Well, not really a cult since they're larger than what I tend to think of as a cult. I lump the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and Scientologists all into the same category - legitimate but suspect in my mind...

Technically, all religions are a cult. The only difference is the degree to which they let their members think for themselves.
