The Indianapolis Star is reporting that Amy Sorrell, the Woodlan-Junior Senior High School teacher who was suspended in March after a column appeared in the school paper calling for tolerance toward LGBT people, has reached a settlement with the school district. Under the terms of the settlement, Sorrell will be transferred to another high school, where she will teach English; she will be barred from teaching journalism for three years.
The online comments are running heavily in favor of journalistic freedom. One of my favorite comments so far comes from Histerical, who writes "Way to go East Allen! You guys in NO WAY at all look like morons." My thoughts exactly.

That still sucks big time.. but Im sure glad they didnt out right fire her.. I had the understanding that it was a done deal and she was gone.. But glad to know she can still work.
