A few things picked up about some of your favorite blogs...

Here at bilerico.com, we have a new editor! Alex Blaze will be stepping into the Editor's duties to help alleviate some of the load of running the site off of my shoulders. *whew* I will remain the managing editor for bilerico.com, but Alex is getting a promotion to help with some of the day to day issues. Running this site entails a lot more than is visible to the naked eye; it's not just writing posts but also attending functions, working with the contributors, designing what the site should look like, fixing problems, promoting the site, answering the steady stream of e-mails (not to mention all of the press releases we get nowadays!), and, of course, all of the research needed to keep talking about our issues.

One of my favorite Hoosier bloggers is calling it quits - at least for now. Scott Barnes's Sardonic Bomb post for today is called, "So This Is Finally It." You'll remember that Scott was a bilerico.com contributor for a while and I hated losing him over here, let alone at his own site! I loved Scott's writing style and my RSS feed will miss him desperately. Head on over and wish Scott well in his new endeavors.

Joh Padgett from Monticello will be doing an experiment for Blue Indiana during June. He'll be producing "a live streaming audio talk show" called "Meet The Bloggers."

The show will begin with an overview of the week's headlines, followed by a prerecorded interview with a notable person of interest, possibly a politician, a journalist or other figure. Following the interview, I will lead a roundtable discussion with a panel of two bloggers each week and a round of questions from our audience who will be able to call in to the show and discuss topics with our panel. The whole thing will be recorded to an mp3 file for sharing and posted as a podcast after the show in the iTunes Podcasts store for downloading.

Melissa McEwan from Shakesville and I are tentatively scheduled as the first set of blogger panelists.

And, finally, thanks to Jennifer Wagner from Taking Down Words for offering me the ability to live blog the Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner. Jen also live blogged the dinner - go check out her site for some of the direct quotes from the speeches. I had a great time, Jen, and appreciate the opportunity!
