Judy_Garland.jpgLet's all take a moment to bow our heads and observe a moment of silence. Today is the day that Judy Garland died.

The star beloved by gay men across the world (I've never understood it, personally) was found sitting on her toilet with her head in her lap after overdosing on sleeping pills in 1969.

I have to admit, other than The Wizard of Oz, I don't really know much about Garland. Well, she's Liza Minelli's mom, but that's not exactly a plus...

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
