From icWales:

A TEENAGE boy who had been teased at school about his sexuality was killed after he lay down in front of a speeding train, an inquest heard today.

Jonathan Reynolds was struck by the train travelling at 85mph through Pencoed railway station near Bridgend, south Wales, on the evening of January 25 of last year.

The 15-year-old from Parkfields Road, Bridgend, sent a text message to his father, Mark, and sister Samantha - aged 14 at the time - just moments before he stepped onto the track in which he blamed the "people who were horrible and injust 2 me".

The coroner's report also says that he was very drunk at the time of death.

His parents said they didn't know he was gay before he died. He came out to a school friend several weeks before this and she said that he was being harassed at school about his sexuality. He was heard having an argument on the phone before he left home. A witness says he saw him lie down on the train tracks and the engineer, who pulled the emergency brake, wasn't able to stop the train in time.

This story just makes me so angry. I don't know what sort of protections there are in Wales against school bullying, but it was going on and it did have kill someone. When are we going to stop victimizing people for being different and start taking care of one another?

I'm really glad you posted on this. This story pissed me off so much I had to put down the computer for a while. Your post was a lot, well, easier to read with fewer cuss words than I would have written...

I hope the people who were making fun of him learn something from his death. Dear God, don't make his death be in vain.
