What an honor! We've been ranked as Indiana's "Most Influential Political Blog" by BlogNetNews.com! While I always thought we were the best, it's nice to get validation from someone else! *grins* (The top 15 blogs are below the fold, btw.)
BNN's Indiana Blogosphere Influence Rating combines a variety of data sets to determine which blogs are most powerfully influencing the direction of the Indiana political blogosphere.
I'm very proud of all the hard work bilerico contributors have done over the past couple of years to help us reach this level of influence and support. Our number of visitors has never been higher, more and more people are commenting on a variety of posts (Texas Congressman Al Green even stopped by the site this morning for a friendly comment on my post about Bush's nomination of a racist, homophobic judge), our Technorati rank just keeps skyrocketing (over 200 other blogs have linked to us in the past six months alone), and we haven't even re-launched yet!
Speaking of the re-launch, it's looking like Monday, July 2nd will be the big day! We'll have a whole new look and quite a few new contributors including several prominent authors, activists and celebrities. Some of you have been asking if we're going to have a new focus - and the answer is "No." We've always tried to bring you the best LGBT news, commentary and humor and that's what we'll continue to do. Indiana politics has been a specialty for a few of our current contributors (myself included) and I doubt we're suddenly going to stop blogging about it. We'll just be blogging about more areas of the LGBTQ community and hopefully getting some of the intimate details of our struggles and celebrations in other areas of the nation and world.
So thanks, dear readers, for making us Indiana's "Most Influential Political Blog." We work hard to bring you our best and appreciate the vote of confidence from BlogNetNews.
