Hell, I feel the same way sometimes, Bill.
In an interview with the NY Daily News, he said:
Richardson, who supports civil unions, was asked if he would veto a gay marriage bill because he believed in his heart that same-sex marriage is wrong. He replied, "I don't want to get into that. I thought you guys were going to ask me about other stuff. Don't you care about other stuff?"
Maybe he isn't quite the smooth talker we all thought he was....

Just sad. I never admired him as much as Bil, but I always thought he was better than this. Just sad.

The real question about Richardson's ability to articulate is whether or not it is his choice or whether he was born that way, assuming he understands that question.

Wait, do we HAVE other issues? I mean, are all GLBT people protected from discrimination and hate crimes across the country? The last time I looked, those issues still have much to be desired. I live in that flyover Midwest, where you can still be fired for being gay or trans and if you're bashed, tough luck.
Why is marriage the be all and end all? To be honest, I think we have to work for the achievable, while pushing for the desirable.

My God, I'm tired of talking about gay marriage, let alone Bill Richardson!
I can't find the source right now, but I read this elsewhere and it wasn't the complete story. If I remember right, the reporter had just finished asking him about the choice question, and then tried to put him in a box about civil unions vs marriage, but the topic of the interview was supposed to be something like Iraq or whatever.
And you have to admit, you'd be kinda tired of just spending days talking about LGBT issues as a presidential candidate when you've told reporters the same thing over and over. From the same (short) article:
'Nuff said. Move on. Let's hear about other issues that affect my life instead of just making him beat his chest and pull his hair...

The rest of the article was about if he would accept a position as VP instead.
I dunno. Goes to his personality. Hillary was asked about 100 times more about her Iraq War vote and at the end of that she still had more grace in answering the question than Richardson showed the night after the HRC/Logo debate about this. This isn't real heat - it's just a bunch of gays playing around. Real heat's when he's running against a Republican for Prez, and I'm not thinking he can handle that.
