Questions, while we wait:

The CEO of MTV said in her pre-show comments that this moment "feels transforming"--and I just wonder in what sense assimilation/inclusion-into-dominant-structures can be considered transforming. I mean, it's something -- but transforming?

Others have asked this (on this blog and elsewhere), but how does a single organization become the voice (er, sponsor? agenda setter?) of a national "community"? I'd really love to see someone from HRC address the hegemony question. Perhaps in a post on Bilerico?
