Kevin Naff puts it into words...

The current editor of the Washington Blade is a nice change from the right-winger Chris Crain who used to run the shop.

Kevin wrote a great analysis of Craig's interview with Matt Lauer.

Sadly, the irony of Craig’s predicament is lost on him. Like it or not, he has become a member of that community he so loathes. Mitt Romney publicly denounced him and removed him from his Idaho campaign, giving Craig a little taste of what it’s like to be the member of a group that is hated and discriminated against. No wonder he chose to run back into the closet. His so-called friends in the GOP are shunning him and some, he claims, even refuse to look him in the eye. How does it feel, Larry?

But rather than add his voice to those fighting prejudice and discrimination, Craig continues to propagate both. Even after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with solicitation of gay sex, he continues to demonize and attack fellow gay people. Craig told Lauer that homosexuality is, “a lifestyle I don’t agree with.” He voted against the hate crimes bill only weeks ago, maintaining his perfect anti-gay voting record in Congress.

Message to Larry Craig: being a self-hating, toe-tapping, GOP loving anti-gay man who seeks sex with men while voting against LGBT civil rights legislation is a lifestyle I don't agree with.

I second Michael!!!

Mike,

Speaking as someone who's written for Kevin, I totally agree...we're talking night and day. Crain's entitled to his opinion, but he's not the kind of person I want in charge of the largest GLBT paper in the country.

While I don't agree with Naff on everything, I also believe that the Blade is about a million times better under his leadership.

By this point, Larry Craig is little more than a running joke. Frankly, I'm glad he's sticking it out...he'll be a consistent reminder of GOP hypocrisy on our issues as we head into the election season in earnest.

I think Craig defines the act of self hate. His song and dance number with his wife was was covered pretty hilariously here:
