It seems like this is "Comment on Florida's Financial Priorities" Week.
The special election to replace Bob Allen will cost Orange and Brevard Counties, Florida, $400,000.
Being publicly shamed, the stigma attached to public and for-pay sex, and state Republicans trying to maintain their facade all led to Bob Allen resigning.
I think there are a few things that $400,000 can be spent on if the real goal here was to prevent HIV, like comprehensive sex education, condoms in prison, or free STD screenings for people who need them.
Really, I think that this is proof enough that the exact mentality that Bob Allen campaigned and voted on is counter-productive to its stated goals. The levels of irony here are astounding.
