This must have been "pile-on week" for Hillary. No one runs a perfect campaign and the longer a campaign goes without a bump, the larger the faux pas will seem when it does happen.

Concerning the double-speak at the last debate about driver licenses for illegal aliens, I didn't think it was that much of a big deal. Frankly, it seemed to be the status quo from the Clinton Camp - not ever really simply stating a position like Kucinich can. Kucinich can tell you what his position is in under 8 words and 99% of the population will understand exactly what he means - they may not agree however. Face it, he is a better communicator.

Back to Hillary, this past week, both sides of the aisle and the great vast "middle-wing" conspiracy of independent populists led by Lou Dobbs all dumped on Hillary and the results were shocking, at least to me. Her drops in polls, specifically Iowa, I think showed how really weak she is as a candidate. Don't get me wrong, she has a ton of cash, and is still considered a front runner, but if a slight mistake like the one in the last debate can cause such a whirl wind of negative results, maybe she is not bulletproof.

Kucinich, now that guy IS bulletproof, but that is another blog entry.

P.S. Credit for today's strip has to go to DKos user Common Cents, from this diary comment. It has been reported by Members of Congress and the media that Hillary can, on occasion, cuss like 20 sailors being waterboarded. However, this is a fictional cartoon and not a direct quote.

Kucinich is absolutely NOT bulletproof. In fact, he's considered to have betrayed his principles by first refusing to vote for a non-inclusive ENDA in committee, but then flip-flopping and supporting it in the full House.

As a transperson, and as someone who has publicly and enthusiastically supported Dennis in the past, I feel sold out and betrayed, and am seriously reconsidering my support of his candidacy.

I am not looking for bullet proof, perfect, a savior or someone who has a great aura and makes a great meal.
I already have that person as a domestic partner.

I like Dennis, but I need someone who is absolutely electable and is someone I can work with when elected. There is this other thing, called experience. Who has already spent 8 years in the White House, and knows the entire scene?
Who has a successful President as a help mate?
Who is known and respected around the globe and can restore our shattered relationships with other nations?
Who has been in the Senate, and won over a skeptical state?
Who has been so completely vetted, investigated and attacked, so that there just aren't any important surprises left?
Who would change the game for women who are still oppressed in our country, still make less than men, are not permitted to be decision makers, in the country or in the LGBT community, which is still largely white male dominated? (Well, in some places, including the HRC).
Who is as tough as she needs to be, but has a sense of humor and balance?
Who has put out the most comprehensive set of campaign platforms and policies to date?
Who Stole Christmas? (Ok, not this one-that would be Bush).

Its Clinton, and these things matter to me.

SC,

You forgot these questions:

Who has thus far refused to even say the word "transgender" during this entire campaign?

Who edited transgender people completely out of their public support for ENDA?

Who told a reporter when they ran for the Senate that they didn't support transgender rights because no one in the gay and lesbian community had asked them to?

Who has a 65-member LGBT steering committee made up of 64 gays or lesbians and just one transperson?

I'll give ya one guess...

Who was one of the most rabidly pro-life representatives in the entire house until late 2003 before deciding that he was going to run a far left national campaign and then suddenly having a change of heart?

I despise the anti-choice crowd, but such a callous, politically motivated decision from someone who claims to speak truth to power disgusts me almost as much.

Not that I particularly like either Clinton, but the idolization of Kucinich really bothers me.

Oh wait my mistake, as of this week it's three transpeople on that steering committee...

Oh and here's one other question: Who's the only leading Presidential candidate who advocates only repealing part of DOMA and supports continuing to allow states to discriminate against LGBT Americans in the recognition of their relationships?

Funny panel one! Anytime anyone mentions Ron Paul anywhere online, the shitstorm starts. I find that hilarious.
