Representative Dennis Kucinich announced on Friday that he is dropping out of the presidential race to focus on his Congressional re-election campaign.
During the presidential campaign, Mr. Kucinich often noted that he was the only Democrat who had voted against authorizing the Iraq war. In Congress he led a drive to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, and this week, promised to do the same against President Bush.
Mr. Kucinich ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004. He told The Plain Dealer on Thursday that he would not endorse another Democrat in the presidential primary.
So long, Mr. Kucinich, and good luck with your re-election campaign. We need more people like you in Congress.

I am sad to see Kucinich drop out. You are absolutely right, we need more people like him in government in general.
I am so angry at the US media who, in a self-fulfilling prophecy, designated Kucinich--and Edwards--nonserious contenders from the beginning, turning the Democratic primary into a contest solely between Clinton and Obama. This is NOT the way a healthy democracy operates. And have you noticed, the media hasn't done the same thing to the Republican field?

Aaaaaaah! This news was such a bummer. You knew he wasn't going to win, but I loved that he pushed them further left. He'd damn well better win his House seat - he's the only thing making that spot of Ohio worth anything! LOL
