Of course, he fails to explain how civil recognition of same-sex relationships negates or even restricts the rights of straight couples, whether married or not. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth: What he is really saying is, "I don't want my Catholic children growing up in a world where same-sex couples aren't demonized."

The stinking hypocrite! If the Pope would say the same thing about same-sex couples that Jesus of Nazareth did --- nothing! --- he would be a better leader at making the world more Christ-like.

All Kidding aside...
The pope has strayed from the teachings of Jesus.
In our hearts some of know what Jesus said and feel the spirit in his teachings.

Over the long haul things have gotten better.
If we continue to pray for a fair world i believe we shall have one in time.
Mountains are not made in a year Moving them takes at least as long.

Well, yes, Sue, you are right ... praying for the Pope is more Christ-like than calling him a "stinking hypocrite" ... even if it is true that he is talking like one.

It was his second attack on same-sex couples in three days.

As George Monbiot wrote of the previous pontiff (and as the quote reveals, Monbiot is far from alone in expressing this sentiment):

It's easy to dismiss this crazy old devil but his words have a bit of power to get us all in more than a little hot water. "Kill the Queers, War will stop! I am just so thankful that peace has been the order of all these thousands of years and has been brought to the planet by the traditional family.
