The Huckster has proven if you have a base of suport you dont need tons of cash to spread the word he won here in Georgia with just a few stops in Atlanta and totaly ignored the rest of the state.No its not over yet by any means.

I think Huckabee has been running for VP for a long time now and will continue to do so. I think he is aiming for McCain's VP to help court conservative voters.

As for Ron Paul, while he does have money, the GOP would never put him in. Ever. He is fun to watch in the debates, though. All the other candidates look at him like he is an alien...

He just suspended his campaign so any delegates he has remain his and any he gets in the mean time are his. so this So unless he releases his delegates then he’s still in the game.This is his way of saying im broke and out of it right see ya at the convention! .

Romney's departure speech was crafted to make him the automatic 2012 front runner, should McCain lose this fall. He'll be doing no Republicans any favors this fall. It's in his interest to have McCain/Huckabee lose. Of course, the Obama/Clinton (or Clinton/Obama) administration will probably be easily reelected. Economic cycles being what they are, we'll probably be in a boom by then, assuming we're out of Iraq and nobody's blown up the Sears Tower or Super Bowl by then.

I'm not in a state that has contested a primary, so I've yet to be barraged by the political advertising yet, but I don't expect McCain to campaign on anti-gay-rights - I expect him to play the "I'm the best one to be Commander-In-Chief" schtick. He'll play the middle, trying to attract people who'd vote Democratic, but not for a black man or woman - and there are those, unfortunately. I'd say you'd have to expect Huck to be the VP in waiting - McCain will need a fundie VP to have any chance of attracting fundie support - they are very capable of sitting it out - they did in 1988 and 1992, as George H.W. Bush was not a favorite of the fundies. Just consider Huck to be the Dan Quayle of 2008, except that he's dumber than Quayle.

We all have our skeletons in our closet (no pun intended,) but I can say I have a doozy. When I was younger, dumber and living in Arizona, I voted for McCain. (I also inhaled.) But, it give me an advantage of sorts. I know what an ass McCain has become over the last decade. He is nothing like he was when he started off, and will make a lot of Bush's stupid policies permenent.

But, with all the things I have been reading lately, with Bush positioning himself have all the power to declare Marshell law, the troups being asked if they could kill American citizens, including family and friends, in a national emergancy, and the suspension of more of our Constitutional rights, it's looking more like this next election may not take place. Bush doesn't want to give up the Presidency. He even stated once that it would better off if he was a dictator. For seven years, he's been positioning himself for that. I don't own a gun, but . . .

Bush would need to manufacture something in order to declare martial law, and the way the country is feeling about him right now, it is doubtful that there would be any support, military or otherwise for him if he did. I do not see his being able to pull anything like that off without blowing up a couple of cities, and even then he couldn't make it stick for long.

What is scary is the idea of ayatollah huckabee being one heartbeat away from the presidency. That man is even scarier than Bush.
