A former Big Brother contestant is suing a porn company for sending him some unsolicited porn:

Kent Blackwelder, who appeared in Big Brother 2 in 2001 and now runs a sandwich shop, has filed a federal lawsuit against Delaware-based Specialty Publications which promotes adult gay material.

The lawsuit claims that the mailing was "unsolicited" and that his 12-year old daughter opened the envelope that said on the outside "free DVD" thinking it was from the Disney Corp.

Instead, the envelope contained the DVD "Titan Men's Farm Fresh," and promotional material for a gay adult magazine.

The lawsuit says that the daughter was "horribly shocked" and when she showed it to her father he was "shocked, disgusted and enraged."

Blackwelder's seeking around $4 million in the suit. I know that those numbers are usually huge and meaningless, but I have to wonder what the damage is here that's worth any amount of money. I'm sure that this girl still has enough food to eat, has access to whatever medical care she had before, is still going to school, and isn't sitting in a corner for weeks on end mumbling "Farm Fresh" repeatedly.

I'm also wondering what porn company out there just sends people free, unsolicited DVD's. Something tells me that there's something Mr. Blackwelder doesn't want to admit about why he received this DVD....

considering the emotional scars and the possibility federal law was broken regarding distribution of pornographic material I hope he wins the suite.

I worked for a publishing company that distributed adult material. It was our practice to only distribute to individuals who have sent requests for such materials. we kept those requests on file and could produce them as proof of solicitation for the materials.

I have to ask why is someone trying to Out this guy. Doesn't have a right to live a quiet life and be happy?

Take care
Sue

I think it is a real possibility that it was someone who either held a grudge, or wanted to play a very nasty practical joke on Mr. Blackwelder. If someone knows the shipping address, it is easy to have something sent through the mail to another person. I think that he will have a hard time winning this case.

Yeah, I've never gotten one of those porn envelopes unless I'd ordered something somewhere. Me thinketh the lady doth protesteth too much.

That's exactly the thing, Sue, I just find it so hard to believe that a porn company would just send a porno to someone who didn't want it. It could have been an honest mistake, but I don't think so, there's something more to this story....

I don't know if anyone's trying to out this guy, but he did file a $4Million lawsuit, so he's gotta be asking for some attention.
