I've been amazed at how quickly we've grown since re-launching the site last July. A large part of our success has come from our readers. Since I get e-mails every day asking how our visitors can help grow the Project, I thought I'd share some of them on the blog.
On March 1st I posted that we'd cracked the Technorati Top 10,000 blogs (out of 112.8 million that they track). Yesterday we made it into the top 9,000! If you'd like to help us build our Technorati ranking, there's two easy ways to do it.
More tips and tricks after the jump - including how to help us finally break 1,000 RSS subscribers!
RSS and e-mail subscriptions
Grab the Bilerico Project's RSS feed. Get updates on our latest posts moments after they're posted! If you don't know what RSS is or how to get started, check out Jerame's excellent expectation of RSS feeds.
Sign up for our daily digest! Look at the top of each page for the signup box. We'll e-mail you at midnight with clips from that day's blog posts. It's an easy way to keep up with the site when you can't visit every day.
Social networking sites
Use the social networking buttons above each comment section. Add our pages to StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit and Mixx or put clips of posts on your Facebook profile. Social networking sites drive lots of traffic - Stumble, Digg and Facebook do really well for us!
Join the Bilerico Project Facebook group or friend us on MySpace.
Tell your friends over e-mail
Add a link to the Bilerico Project to your e-mail signature! Just put something like "My favorite blog is The Bilerico Project - www.bilerico.com." Think of how many people you e-mail every day; you could be sharing our site with all of them. After all, what's better than a recommendation from a friend?
Along the same lines, send a link to the site or one of our posts to all the folks in your address book. Word of mouth advertising is always the most effective!
Thanks so much for all of your help in making Bilerico one of the hottest up-and-coming LGBT sites. We couldn't do it without you!
