7th District Congressional candidate David Orentlicher has been working the campaign trail hard lately. Not only has he been doing the traditional campaign appearances, but the savvy Democrat is reaching out to the netroots as well. He'll be live-blogging on Blue Indiana tomorrow night at 9pm. I know I'll be there to see what he has to say...

David is the most intelligent candidate for the primary election; not only is he a state representative, he's also a lawyer and a doctor. Therefore, Dr. Orentlicher is the clear choice for advocating for universal health care. He announced his health care proposal this morning at Wishard Hospital. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend but his press release has a good quote from the doctor.

"As a doctor, I have seen first-hand the pain of families--and businesses--that face rising health care costs, and I will go to Washington to make sure that everyone has access to affordable health care. This issue is so vital that last week I pledged not to accept a pay raise until universal health care is addressed by Congress and the President," Orentlicher said.

When he advocated a form of Medicare For All, I knew right away he was my choice for the primary. He stayed 30 minutes beyond the hour he committed to, and answered most questions reasonably. He's a great guy and will make a terrific congressman.
