This time it's Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi that sends out a press release about Andre Carson's victory last night.
"It is with great pleasure that I welcome Congressman-elect Andre Carson to the 110th Congress. On behalf of all Members of the Democratic Caucus, I congratulate him on this victory last night and I look forward to working with him to strengthen America's economy and to restore our nation's leadership in the world.
"Like his grandmother, Congressman-elect Carson comes to the House with an unstinting commitment to the people of Indianapolis, to equality of opportunity, and to moving America in a New Direction that breaks cleanly from the failed policies of the Bush Administration. As a new congressman, Andre Carson's commitment to change will serve the people of Indiana's 7th District well as Democrats fight to strengthen our economy, end the war in Iraq, and restore the American dream.
"Democrats' victories in Illinois and Indiana are proof positive that America rejects the failed Republican policies promoted by President Bush and Senator John McCain and embraces Democrats' agenda for change. These victories offer additional evidence of the outstanding leadership of Chairman Chris Van Hollen, who took the reins of the DCCC following our historic 2006 election victory and has led our party to new heights."
