There was a bloodletting for the queers in the big three of reality TV this week. American Idol, Big Brother 9 and Survivor all booted our token contestants this week.

  • Former stripper David Hernandez was the first of the Top 12 to get the boot on American Idol. He tells Reality TV World that he doesn't think America voted him out after learning of his sexy gay past. Hernandez says the show's producers knew about his past profession from the beginning. I thought his performance sucked too.
  • Openly gay Survivor castaway Chet Welch was voted off the tribe on Thursday. Chet, a Miss America pageant coach, injured himself in a previous challenge and would have been evacuated if he hadn't been voted off the island. Chet had no business being out there to start with no matter his sexuality.
  • James Zinkand from BB9 was voted out of the house, but a surprise twist brought him right back in the same episode. James starred in a couple of gay porn videos, but is presented on the show as a straight man. I hope he stays this time; call me a size queen but I've found myself cheering for him since I saw him with his mouth full.

I was really sad to see David Hernandez go home. His last song was bad, but I think "stripper-gate" had a lot to do with it. Plus he was super cute...
