There's nothing like a good smack down delivered with an English accent. This video blogger wonders if fundamentalist Christianity's obsession with homosexuality stems from the secret passages of the Gospel of Mark:

And what about the openly queer Christians?
This stuff's been around the block several times, Jesus with John and the boy in the cloth, as well as Paul being a closet case and that's why he was such an anti-sex nut. But I think that the message might have some more resonance if delivered by someone who didn't so transparently hate Christianity.
Oh, well. Jesus was bi in my book. He loved everyone. There's really no evidence, even in the Bible, to support the idea that Jesus was celibate, and I think that's a pretty important thing to leave out if it were true.

Alex: Very good video.
I happen to have done my M.A. on the Gospel of John. There are five passages that refer to the "disciple Jesus loved."
By the way, John does not identify himself as being that disciple. This is just a common belief. Most scripture scholars vote of Lazarus, others for Andrew. But, whatever.
There is a good study done on this matter in the book "The Man Jesus Loved" by Theodore W Jennings Jr. and available on Amazon.com.
Anyone interested in the matter would do well to read this study.
The scene at the last supper with Jesus and the mysterious disciple is rather....intimate, if you pay attention to the details.
The man on your video makes a lot of good sense.
And you may be right, it's very possible that Jesus was bi. Either way it was not left out of the gospels, just camouflaged down through the ages.

Alex is correct. This stuff is old hat to queer Christian activists. for more queer angles on old & new testament stuff, check out "Jonathan Loved David" by Robin Scroggs and "Gay Theology Without Apology" by Gary Comstock, as well as "Our Tribe" by Rev. Nancy Wilson.
