A message from David O's campaign just landed in the inbox. A snippet:
As we enter the final week of this primary race, our campaign is firing on all cylinders and driving to victory!
Our television ads have elicited lots of positive reaction. (However, we cannot confirm rumors about Cy and Shayna premiering their own television show.) And our mail pieces also have stood out as the strongest out there.
More after the jump.
Dozens of volunteers are canvassing with David door-to-door and by phone on weeknights and throughout the day on weekends. We've now contacted more than 25,000 households in our grass roots effort, with many more reached through coffees, fundraisers, neighborhood association meetings and public events.
On Sunday evening at the candidates debate, David did an excellent job delivering his message of change -- as the Indianapolis Star reported, he was the "most aggressive" of the candidates and was able to make the role of special interests the key issue. David stands alone in his willingness to reject PAC and lobbyist dollars and stand up to the special interests that are blocking change in Washington .
Our polling, Woody Myers' polling, and all the serious public polling shows what we've known all along: David is gaining ground and this race is going down to the wire. There is one public poll by Howey-Gauge that is, simply, wrong. Pay it no mind. David's campaign has momentum, the right message, and (most of all) the right candidate.
Thanks for all your help!
And, remember, there is more work to be done.
First, please come out and vote for David Orentlicher in the May 6th primary.
Second, please make a financial contribution to David's campaign. Any donation you make - $5, $25, $50, $100 - will support David's final 6 days of commercials, radio and print media. We accept donations over our secure online website as well as through traditional mail.
Third, please continue to help us get the word out about David. The more people hear about David and his contributions, the wider and deeper his support grows. Word of mouth (or e-mail!) is still one of the most effective ways to help get out the vote.
