Former Indiana state senator Jean Leising loves lobbyists

When I say that Indiana's legislature is one of the most corrupt and inept, I can point to former Republican state senator Jean Leising (and current state senate candidate!) as an example of what I'm talking about.

Leising recently sent an e-mail to her former colleagues begging for help rounding up special interest money.

Jean_Leising.jpgIt was sent to members of the Republican majority in the state Senate at their government e-mail addresses (sent from her personal address.) It asks for donations to her campaign which, she says, needs to raise another $20,000.

It concludes with the line, "Thanks for any kind words with lobbyist, etc."

Since Jean's campaign website touts her belief in the right to bear arms, and the right to life, I'm guessing that gun and pro-life lobbyists are especially encouraged to dig deep. She says she "cares about" less government regulation, so I doubt she'll have a problem finding lobbyists with some spare cash.

Maybe the campaign can buy her a new sweater from JC Penney.

I had no Idea (and honestly have never cared) about her track record in the government I just know her from the town I live in and as someone who has personally waited on her and her family ... Let me tell you ... they treat the working class like they own us ... if they don't get things just as they want them they will throw a Tantrum, that's no lie. I had never experienced such disrespect until I met them, so when I see them around town promoting her campaign it makes me physically ill to see how fake they are to everyone. So as for me and my house we won't be Voting for Leising in '08.
P.S. If you think that sweater's bad you should see the rest of her collection ... ugh ...

As a registered Republican who believes in the innate goodness within each of us, it greatly disturbs me when the people whom we elect to guide our cities, states and our country do not conduct their lives in a manner consistent with the ideals of which they so eloquently speak.

One such incident is currently playing out in Indiana’s 42nd State Senate District race. The Republican candidate for State Senator (Jean Leising) has put her husband (Frank Thompson), who has been unfaithful to her for the entire length of their marriage, in charge of controlling her campaign. This candidate, who allows her potential constituents to believe that “Jean stands for family values” (quoted from a 05/05/2008 interview on www.1330wtre.com/news with Shelby County Assessor Lynn Bass), appears to be demonstrating the age old adage of “do as I say, not as I do”.

Jean: If you truly stand for the sanctity of the family, you will find a more honest and ethical person to chart the course of your political career.
