There's a tragedy brewing for fans of "Project Runway." On Monday, NBC Universal filed suit against the Weinstein Company, the production company that owns the rights to "Project Runway," because Weinstein had sold the rights to Bravo TV's network rival Lifetime. According to Reuters:
Project Runway just completed its fourth cycle, and NBC said in the suit that it is in production for the fifth season on Bravo. But NBC said on Monday that it may have to decide whether to continue to air the show.
No "Project Runway"? What's a girl to do?
Are you freaking kidding me? If the show is already in the middle of production for Season 5, surely NBC wouldn't pack up the sewing machines and tell all of the designers who have been competing that they're shit out of luck. If you want to talk about contract violations, I'd venture to guess that this would qualify.
I guess I could wait until Lifetime picks up the show, but this is a tragedy of epic proportions. There are two things I'm morally opposed to in this world: renting a U-Haul and watching Lifetime. I'm voting for NBC.

I wonder if straight-laced Lifetime would "de-gay" Project Runway? Bravo has given them a free rein to be as open as possible and push the line many times...
I'm with you Serena... I say let it stay at NBC/Bravo.

What could you do if the show goes kaput?
Get rid of your cable and start doing something besides watching TV maybe?
Start writing the great american lesbian novel we all know you are just dying to get started on?
There is plenty you can do.
Just don't be like me and spend all your free time playing stupid computer games and talking on blogs. ;)

Waymon, I know! I need flaming gay guys to make the show interesting. I like fashion, but nobody watches the show to see people sewing.

I & hearts; Project Runway! Unfortunately, Jerame hates it so we rarely watch it. Of course, we're currently watching American Idol, Survivor, Hell's Kitchen and Big Brother 9, so our reality TV schedule is already, shall we say, a little full. :)
