I can't stand that "just a joke" defense. It's as if jokes are nothing, I guess, or that whatever is said in their context is somehow negated by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Or something like that....
But it's so true about a lot of those gay stereotypes, especially the short shorts. I remember a few years ago I found a younger straight man quite attractive and didn't know his sexuality. I saw him in a tree wearing just daisy dukes (quite the free spirit, I know), and there was nothing gay about that.
But he was pretty.

Alex - if you didn't take the young guy wearing daisy dukes in a tree home with you, I'd be utterly surprised. Wait. He's younger. Nevermind. *grins*
Brent - you and Michael are so damn cute. I love how you smile every time you two kiss. :) (And I thought you both looked great after your make-overs.)
