Editor's Note: You've seen Steven Colbert's "Better Know a Lobbyist," but our version is so much gayer! Each weekend, we spotlight a different TBP contributor.

This week we're chatting with Brent Hartinger, one of those Two Gay Guys we love so much. We're lucky to have him here at TBP, but he is also a contributor over at After Elton.

Follow me after the jump to find out why Brent is a fan of chocolate and erotic stories.

1. How did you get roped into writing for TBP?
You know, I don't recall! I think I got a random email from Bil or Alex.

2. What was your coming out experience like?
To the first other person, I told a friend I had something tell her one night. I hemmed and hawed all night and didn't actually say it until 8 AM the next morning. Such a coward!

Coming out to my parents was far, far, FAR more embarrassing. I had stored my things at my parents house, post-college, and my mom went snooping. It was her own fault, but of course she found some erotic stories I had written. Yikes! Still don't like to think about that one.

3. If you were in your favorite musical, which character would you most like to be?
If I say Jesus Christ in "Jesus Christ Superstar," that makes me sound self-important, doesn't it? But hey, he's got that great song in the Garden of Gethsemene!

4. What book should every Projector read?
Giovani's Room by James Baldwin changed my life. It's Brokeback Mountain written back when it was actually happening.

5. Best thing about being a blogger?
The immediate feedback. Even if it's negative (which it hopefully isn't), it's nice to know you're being read. In my other job, I write books for teenagers (including gay teens). But you write a book, and then you have to wait two years for it to be published to get any feedback at all!

6. Favorite late night snack?
Chocolate covered raisins. Oh my GOD they're good!
