UPDATED: I bumped this back up to the top since I added some pictures of the ceremony after the jump.
Six years ago Jerame and I made a vow to improve our lives. First he'd go to college and then I would. Today, he graduates. He held up his end of the bargain; I've never been prouder of him than I am today.

Paige, Jerame, Bil and Jerame's mom Sherry celebrate Jerame's graduation.
The Graduate
The procession to get the diploma. Jerame is the 3rd person from the left.

Awesome job, Jerame!

It is indeed awesome, and Jerry and I add our congratulaions.
I have only one question: Will Bil have to sleep on the sofa after choosing to depict the new Graduate as a large GOP symbol?
My other half continues not to let me blog about the fact that we have a somewhat similar situation in our houseold. At age 58 and after retireing from 30 years of federal service, he's currently enrolled at IUPUI (where I think Jarame went through commencement today)completing the few hours he didn't complete some 35 years ago in Maryland. Hopefully a year from today he'll be doing the same thing.
But until he does I would have to sleep on the sofa if I were to tell anyone.

Ooops, I may have to join Jerry on the sofa when Bil and Jerame see I've done it again and mis-spelled the the graduate's first name again above, as I have a habit of doing.

What a day!
I'm wiped out, but I want to make sure to say thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I'm so thrilled to be done with this degree and moving on with my life in new exciting directions.
I love you too, Paige!

Thanks for the inspiration. I'm 48 and just moved to a small college town in PA from NYC 1 year ago. Now that I settled in I am scared to be going back to college after nearly 30 years.
I'm older than a lot of the kids fathers that I will be going to classes with.

At the end of May I graduate with my BA and I turn 42. The past four years have been rewarding and exciting as well as exhausting and exasperating.
Being the old thumb sticking out on campus was difficult but not for the reasons I expected. I never felt more invisible. Sometimes that is helpful and sometimes (as in when dealing with faculty) it is not helpful. The biggest obstacle was always myself. Don't give up tobyhannabill.
Congratulations, graduate! I know exactly what you mean when you talk about moving on, Jerame. I am one paper and three final exams away from graduation day and I am sooooo over it. I look forward to checking in to the local sanitarium for the summer...and then paying back the loans.
