Alex is on a short vacation from the Project, so you're stuck with me for Queer Music Friday. While Alex is very thorough about making sure the same artist isn't featured twice, I'm not as picky. (Technically, my choice wasn't in a QMF post. So there!)

Jay Brannan's new single "Housewife" will be available on May 27th at iTunes and his album releases on July 1st. He could sing me the phonebook. Lyrics after the jump.

two bodies pressed together
two boys are falling hard
the smell of sweat and leather
a kinky greeting card

crazy about each other
we both have fucked up pasts
but when we are together
we have a fucking blast

[chorus:]
i wanna be a housewife
what's so wrong with that
i wanna be a housewife, yeah
and that's just where i'm at

i'm making guacamole
he's working on the car
when he grills turkey burgers
he knows i like them charred

i like to wash the dishes
i like to scrub the floors
don't mind doing his laundry
what are boyfriends for

[chorus]

i wanna have his baby
i wanna wear his ring
he drives me fuckin crazy
i am his everything

[chorus]

i wanna be a housewife
what's so wrong with that
can't wait 'til he's in my life, yeah
cuz we haven't met

we haven't met yet...
we haven't met yet...

i can't decide if these lyrics are so bad they're good or so bad they're bad!

Oh, no! The very end is humorous, but otherwise where the critique? I want critique!

I want to know who controlled the pan dolly. I loved the background, and the obvious fact that this was filmed out of doors. I loved the activity of the dream Husband, as he progressed to the end of the moving shot and how as he returned there was no one there.

It gave the effect of him having an extended daydream about a bittersweet desire. Very well done and very technically difficult to pull off.

Now you're all hoping for Alex to be back soon, eh? *grins*
