Well, it's finally Primary Day in Indiana. For the first time in 60-odd years, our primary will matter in the Presidential race. Who's it going to be? Barack or Hillary? Will Carson eke out another victory for Indiana's 7th Congressional District or will he be sent packing? What about Governor; will we finally have a female candidate for Governor?
I'll be out and about doing video interviews and gathering some information. I'll cross-post the videos to Bilerico Project and Bilerico-Indiana, but text updates will mostly be on B-IN. Be sure to check over there throughout the day too.
After the jump some amazing early/absentee voting information gathered by this weekend's guest blogger, Hakim Abdul-Shabazz and my predictions for the evening's winners.
More than 7,900 absentee ballots were mailed out and more than 6,700 returned. That's an 85-percent return rate.
More than 8,800 people have come into the Clerk's Office to vote since early voting began on April 7.
Including the traveling board, more than 16,000 absentee ballots have been cast and 75-percent of those pulled a Democratic ballot.
Statewide, more than 143,000 Democratic absentee ballots have been requested; 44,000 for Republicans. That number comes from Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita.
So who's gonna pull it out and take the prize? Here are my predictions:
Presidential
- Hillary Clinton (52%)
- Barack Obama (48%)
Gubernatorial
- Jill Long Thompson (58%)
- Jim Schellinger (42%)
7th Congressional District
- Woody Myers (36%)
- Andre Carson (35%)
- David Orentlicher (20%)
- Carolene Mays (3%)

My partner and I left the voting place and he remarked to me, "We have never discussed the governor's race."
It's true-we talked about the presidential race, the congressional races, the judicial races, even the race for coroner, and never discussed the governor's race.
I voted for Schellinger, and my partner for voted for Thompson, so I guess we ended up cancelling each other out.

As long as one votes thats what realy matters.We in Georgia have a seperate primary for state and county elections in July.Back in Febuary on Super Tuesday it was just for President.
