What a busy week so far! Our photo coverage of California's first same-sex weddings brought in quite a crowd and it seems several have stuck around to see what else we've got up our sleeves. Here are the Bilerico rules for our new Projectors:
- Have fun
- Learn lots
- Laugh lots
- Help the contributors to do the same
Between the Chemistry.com partnership and our photostream, yesterday almost broke a one day visitor record. Know what beat it? My Big Brother porn post (NSFW) and the subsequent discussion about it. Sex sells. *sigh*
Since I'm still catching up on e-mails from the start of the week, I thought I'd pass along some of the press releases and publicity requests that have shown up in the past 48 hours that I'm wading through. Check them out after the jump.
This is, obviously, not a complete list of all of the contacts we get daily. (You wouldn't believe how much e-mail people send us. It's amazing sometimes.) These are ones that I found worthy of notice for one reason or another.
Before we start with legitimate claims to your attention, let's just get this out of the way... For all you honeymooners out there, the Fairmont San Francisco and partner hotel the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Mendocino Hotel and Garden Suites, and the city of Tri-Valley, California all want you to spend your money with them and Vivienda Estate will even make a documentary out of your wedding for the right price. (In fact, they wanted you to know so badly, they sent it twice!) Of course, don't ask me to actually recommend any of them since I'd never heard from their publicists until they wanted to hawk their crap! Three words to the cheap bastards: "Buy an ad!"
On to the good stuff:
- Fortune 500 Panel to Discuss the Importance of Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace
- L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center Debuts Online Wedding Resource Guide for Gay and Lesbian Couples
- AMA Calls for "Removal of Financial Barriers to Care for Transgender Patients" In related news, Andrew W. Gurman, M.D., Re-Elected to Vice Speaker, AMA House of Delegates (He is a board liaison to the AMA Advisory Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Issues.)
- 'My Girlfriend Did It' Event Highlights Impact of Intimate Partner Violence.
- There is a brand new free website that allows one to submit letters to the editors of all the key newspapers in the US
- A website to attract the stories of gays and lesbians who served in the military but never returned home, as told by by friends, families and partners they left behind.
- More pictures from Robin Tyler and Diane Olson's wedding.
- An amazing documentary about a reader's friend's relationship with a girl from New Zealand.
See ya'll tomorrow when I'm fresh! *grins*

By fresh, are you referencing the old Summer's Eve commercials?

Hey folks:
don't forget the SIR Francis Drake Hotel on Powel St. in S.F. It is GAY Friendy, and has suported us, over the years, repeatedly.
My spouse works there, and they always make a point of treating me well, loaned us a stretch limo for our Marriage five years ago, and gives me my own, employee/spousal Hotel discount card, which I can use for friends and family.
Let's support those who have supported us when it wasn't Politically correct, through out the Years!

I see Bil as more of an "Irish Spring" commercial.

Can I just say that I am so glad I stumbled across this blog! I laugh, I cry (hell, I cry at Folger's commercials!), and I enjoy myself immensely. I try to stay informed, here in Des Moines, IA, and more often than not, I do so by reading blogs her and other places. I get mad at some people sometimes, and I get inspired by many, quite often. Thanks so much for the great resource. Des Moines is not po-dunk by any means, rather we are a blooming community with many outlets, but sometimes news is not new when we get it!
Thanks, again!
