Knowing that Jen Biesty and Zoi Antonitsas are a long-term couple....

"Galpals"? Could they have thought of a more patronizing and desexualizing term?

The article goes on to describe them with the term "lesbian partner" and "the lesbian pair." But they chose "galpals" for their headline, no doubt trying to avoid using the word "lesbian" or "couple" when referring to two women in big print.

Then again, the Boston Herald was owned by Ruport Murdoch a few years back and is the Boston equivalent of the New York Post. So I guess I really shouldn't be shocked that a headline like that appeared in the paper in 2008, not 1968.
